Equity Investment

With an equity investment, the Investor purchases right to profit sharing in the Sponsor’s project. The Investor does not actually own the physical structure. The Investor owns Notes or Unites of a newly formed LLC (created by Sharestates) that is the equity partner of the Sponsor. Equity is paid back after debt, making equity a riskier investment. This is why yields can be much higher than debt yields.
